At 3DSHQ, we are passionate about equipping schools with the tools and knowledge they need to bring 3D printing into their classrooms. From elementary schools to universities, we’ve had the privilege of working with educators who see the value in this transformative technology. Recently, we had the opportunity to visit Pleasant Valley Elementary School in the Wichita Public School district, where an inspiring 3D printing initiative is taking shape.

This project is being led by Ying Jiang, a first-grade teacher with a vision. She recognized that 3D printing could be a game-changer not only for her students but also as a valuable resource for fellow educators. With hands-on learning at the forefront, Ying saw the potential for engaging young minds in ways traditional methods cannot.
To support this initiative, Andrew Kramer, Head of Sales at 3DSHQ, and Brooke Gaskill, our Director of Operations, spent a full day at Pleasant Valley Elementary providing on-site training. They met with groups of teachers, offering personalized one-on-one instruction on everything from using slicing software to understanding different materials and brainstorming classroom applications.
“This experience has equipped our educators with the skills and confidence to bring 3D printing into their classrooms, opening up exciting opportunities for students to explore design, creativity, and problem-solving through technology.”- Ying Jiang
During the visit, teachers explored designing custom pieces to help with curriculum, visual aids, and replacing typically expensive-to-purchase items with 3D-printed alternatives. The excitement was palpable as educators discovered how they could integrate this technology into their everyday lessons to enhance engagement and creativity.
At 3DSHQ, we believe that access to cutting-edge tools should be easy and accessible for all educators. Seeing firsthand how schools like Pleasant Valley Elementary are embracing 3D printing fuels our mission to continue supporting and expanding these programs. We’re proud to be part of their journey and look forward to seeing the incredible projects their students and teachers create!
